For Massachusetts Marijuana Establishments (ME) and Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MTC) Agents Who Are Required to Complete Responsible Vendor Training from a State-Approved Provider

This class has been approved by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission for all Agents operating in the cannabis industry and meets the instruction mandate for owners, managers, and employees involved in the handling and sale of marijuana who must complete Responsible Vendor Training within 90 days of hire and once per year thereafter.

Marijuana Establishments and Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers: Licensees must prove that all owners, managers, and employees involved in handling or selling marijuana have attended the state-required Responsible Vendor Training from an approved training provider (90 days from date of hire and annually) when they apply for or renew their licenses. This designates the business as a Responsible Vendor and is a licensing requirement in Massachusetts.

MODULE 5: Retail, cultivation, and manufacturing requirements

  • Quantity limitations on sales to purchasers and relevant laws
  • Conduct of employees and the establishment
  • Cultivation and product manufacturing vendor samples and quality control limits
  • Policies and procedures for retail, cultivation, manufacturing

MODULE 6: Safe storage, packaging, and labeling requirements

  • Safe cannabis and cannabis product storage practices
  • Health and safety standards for safe cannabis storage
  • Elements required on cannabis product and packaging labels
  • Identify all packaging as child-resistant packaging prior to transport or sale

MODULE 7: Transport requirements and safe delivery practices

  • Required documentation to transfer marijuana from one licensed facility to another
  • Necessary safety features on delivery and transport vehicles
  • Risky situations when delivering and transporting marijuana
  • Requirements for reporting loss, theft or diversion to the state

MODULE 8: Waste handling, management, and disposal

  • State laws and rules for waste handling, management, and disposal

  • Best practices to safely handle cannabis and cannabis products

MODULE 12: Licensing and Enforcement Inspection

  • What each cannabis licensee is permitted and prohibited from doing while functioning under that license

MODULE 13: License and court sanctions, administrative and criminal liability

  • Process for plans of correction
  • Difference between cease and desist and quarantine orders

MODULE 14: Recordkeeping and privacy considerations

  • Recordkeeping requirements for the dispensary

MODULE 15: Licensee responsibilities

  • Licensee’s responsibilities related to internal cultural competency and conducting business
